Mika - Happy Ending

I've been obsessed with this song for as long as I can remember. The lyrics are very sad but the guy's voice is just gorgeous. (Is there anything cuter than that backround?!)

So much to love!

Alice + Olivia. I know most celebrities have discovered their fashion making magic years ago but they are currently a new discovery for me. A few of their current collection I'm craving:

Spring Arthur Pant $198

Laken Long Tank Dress with Belt Navy $444

Printed Silk Romper with belt $297

In Memoriam

I wished I had begun this blog only a few days early so that I could write about Elizabeth Taylor's passing on the day of her death, but better late than never. In honor of Ms. Taylor I wanted to write a post about some of the world's most iconic women and some of my personal idols. They will always be remembered.

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
-Audrey Hepburn

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” -Coco Chanel

"I want to live my life, not record it." -Jackie Kennedy Onassis

“When people say, 'She's got everything', I've got one answer - I haven't had tomorrow.” -Elizabeth Taylor

Girl Crush

I've always had a slight obsession with this actress (she's just so fabulous!) but while I was looking through pictures for this blog I came across some amazing ones of her. She has done so many incredible movies and I've loved every single one I have seen. Has anyone guessed who it is yet? It's the always wonderful, stylish, and classy....Meryl Streep.

Meryl Streep, The Devil Wears Prada Movie

(Possibly the best movie of all time it would not be even half as amazing without Mrs. Streep.)

(1. This picture is just adorable. 2. In the theater, I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for her scenes. No offense to Amy Adams of course but Meryl was hilarious.)

In case you can't tell just from this photo, this shot is a scene from the movie Mamma Mia. One thing I liked about this movie the most was her beautiful voice; who knew she could sing!)

So does anyone else share my love for Meryl? Every movie she does, she plays a completely different character and pulls them off spectacularly. I pray she continues to make such amazing movies.

Back to the 50's

Is anyone else sick of those body-con dresses most celebrities have been wearing for the past couple of years? Luckily there's been a resurgence of beautiful lady-like dresses on the red carpet lately. I could not be happier. Aren't they gorgeous?!

(I adore the full skirt on this one. It's so reminiscent of the fabulous 50's!)

(The floor length look on this one is still so ladylike and sweet and the cinching at the waist is perfect for petite girls-prevents drowning in fabric.)

(High neckline, full skirt, great pattern; pure class. Also, not many people can pull off her haircut but Carey Mulligan looks incredible.)

(This last one is without a doubt my favorite. Not only does it have that fabulous 50's glamour, but Hailee helped design it! I also love that she's only 14-just like me.)

Summer Fun

Rompers...I go back and forth with these particular articles of clothing. In some cases they're absolutely adorable. They're perfect for lying by the pool or lounging around on a summer day or there are the other not so good cases. The cinched waistline can be unflattering and it all depends on where the line of the shorts fall. Right now I'm in one of my love them phases so I've gathered a collection of some of my favorites.
Forever 21 Embroidered Floral Romper
(Wouldn't this be so cute lying around the pool! It also has an exposed back.)
Forever 21 Tribal Inspiration Woven Romper
(I love the sweet tribal print, especially with that braid and those bracelets!)

I especially like this last one because of the pattern and the way the top is looser so it almost looks like 2 separate pieces.

Really, is there anything more gorgeous than this outfit on Selena Gomez? I love the scarf, the striped sweater (i have a thing for stripes, they're so nautical), and those earrings. Plus the hair is perfectly wavy with just the right shade of red for lipstick. In case anyone is just as smitten as I am you can get an identical lipgloss at Dillard's. MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lipglass.

Elie Saab

If there's one not at all practical idea I wish I owned it would definitely be a floor length gown. I know it's illogical but I can't help but sigh every time I imagine going to a ball wearing a gorgeous dress that floats down to my toes. That's why I'm in love with Elie Saab's 2011 Spring collection. Beautiful, no?

Dancing in the rain

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning to dance in the rain."

For some reason, I've always had a fascination with rain. It's the best excuse to stay inside and cuddle up on the couch. Above is one of my favorites quotes of all time. But even the dedicated rain lover like me has to admit it has it's downsides. The messed up hair, freezing cold water, and running makeup. No one likes that. Solution? The umbrella. Most people are annoyed by these handy creations but I think they can be absolutely inspiring for the next time it rains.

But sometimes you just have to let the rain fall...
(I love the whimsy of the jacket! Not to mention it's pink...)

(I love the coral color of this top and the adorable pleats)

(This dress is probably my favorite of the bunch. WIth it's adorable tulip skirt and high neckline, it's pure Audrey Hepburn.)
