Wedding Mania
Well the wait is finally over. Has anyone else been counting the days until the Royal Wedding? I know of course I have and that every time I did think of it, there was only one on my mind: the dress. This morning I woke up extremely early to watch it to make sure I didn't miss a single morsel of British elegance. I was not disappointed.

As I've mentioned before, I have a very minimalist wardrobe and usually I'm perfectly content with that fact, however, I chose to mix things up today and chose to mix up my two patterned pieces and I couldn't be happier with the result. I know some are reluctant but I've definitely signed on board to the mixing patterns train. (What could be better than getting double use out of your clothes?)

Another Easter's come and gone and with it the knowledge I get every year that reminds me why I love this holiday. I often forget how wonderful it can be; with all the hype other holidays receive it can be hard to remember what makes this one special. Whatever your religion it's still an excuse to spend time with your family, hunt for Easter eggs, create beautiful baskets, and find random Easter bunnies to hug (I admit to this one). One of my favorite parts of this day is the cute little things that come along with it.

Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten (US Version)
Inspirational Music Friday! I'm kind of liking this idea so I think I'll stick with it for a while. Most everyone, unless you've been living under a rock, knows this song yet I heard it for the first time in a while today. I've always loved this song's message. Your future really is yours for the choosing. Have a great weekend!

Cruising in Coral
I have a friend. Since she refuses to be featured on this blog (even though she has the best style!) let's call her Sara. Sara is 100% obsessed with the color coral. All day, EVERY day she continues to pester me, and everyone else, about it's appeal. And sadly, I think I'm starting to agree with her. It's so cheerful and light and perfect for springtime. Some of my favorite coral pieces:

New York, here I come!
This summer-for the first time!- I'm going taking a trip up to New York City to perform! I couldn't be more excited. New York is the one place I've wanted to go my entire life and I already have a list of the things I want to accomplish before I leave-shopping of course being on the list. Here are some pictures that I'm hoping will satisfy my craving until I arrive.

My Favorite Things
If anyone else reads the amazing blog, Cupcakes and Cashmere, this post is inspired by Emily's weekly posts celebrating the things currently making her happy. If you haven't read her blog, I suggest you do. And soon. www.cupcakesandcashmere.com
As I've mentioned before, I'm addicted to Audrey Hepburn. And yes, I have a box set.
The blog this post is inspired by! I check back at least twice a day.
Since I've finally decided to accept spring's arrival, I chose today to be much more colorful then I usually am. Steve Madden Loafers, Delias skirt and shirt.
My extensive collection of style books I keep in my desk in case of fashion roadblocks. Lauren Conrad's- Style. Whitney Port's- True Whit. Teen Vogue Handbook.

Gossip much?
I'm back! I've missed blogging so much but enjoying the last few days of performing was definitely worth it. Unfortunately, due to all the singing and dancing I'm convinced, I came down with a cold and have been sick all weekend, including today. However, I'm perfectly satisfied staying home in bed as long as I remember that my beloved Gossip Girl returns tonight! I've been waiting weeks for it's arrival and it finally is here. Any other dedicated fans? In honor of it's return I've collected some of my favorite fashions they've created on their show which time and time again keep me coming back for more.

Regrets...
This weekend I'm performing in the Sound of Music so regretfully most of my days will be filled with dancing, singing, and 'Do, Re, Mi'ing. I return with my writing next week. Have a few wonderful days!

White Wonderland
I am 100% in love with this outfit on Blake Lively. Normally, I find her style a little too revealing and, in my opinion, trashy. However, ever since her announcement as the new face of Chanel's Mademoiselle line, her style has improved so much and created gorgeous outfits like this. The only problem with this outfit is it's price. A fresh off the runway Dolce&Gabbana? I don't think so. Luckily, I found some good alternatives.
1)Forever 21; Crocheted Eyelet Sundress
2)Forever 21; Sunday Afternoon Lace Dress
3)Lulu's; Tea and Crumpets Lace White Dress
1)Topshop; White Linen Waterfall Jacket
2)Macy's; Two Button Blazer
3) Elizabeth and James; Carnaby White Wool Jacket

Back to the Beach
Lately, I've been dreaming of beachy waves, maxi dresses, long walks along the sand, nautical themed accessories, chic cloth bags to hold all my junk, thick sweaters, and an endless stretch of days-full of promises. Summer please come!

As Coco Chanel once said, "Always remove one thing before you leave the house. Less is more." Fully accepting that quote means embracing the simplicity of minimalism. There's such an unspoken elegance in simple clothing that speaks wonders beyond the bold outfits many tend toward. In honor of quiet beauty:
(All clothing from Zara except for the last two which are from Topshop.)

Uniforms
When I think of uniforms, I imagine same sex schools swimming with plaid skirts and rows of ironed navy blazers a la my style icon, Blair Waldorf.
However this is often not the case. For one, my knowledge of private schools is quite limited so I could be completely of base with my stereotypical view of their clothes. For another thing uniforms are not just for school age children. Just a few months ago, style icon Vera Wang admitted to having a uniform that she wears most day. Most day my uniform consists of skinny jeans (a staple!) and a statement piece. While normally I try to dress up a little more, today was a long day so I threw on my favorite jeans, a super soft t-shirt and my new Delia's scarf. I love how the focus immediately goes to the scarf with it's ombre pattern and my bangs (new addition)
